Disney On Ice – Princesses & Heroes Malmö

Going home!

So, the day came when we had to say goodbye! We got up at 04:00 (4 am), packed the car with the two suitcases and drove across the Oeresunds bridge (Öresundsbron) to Kastrup airport in Copenhagen. After having some trouble getting the boardingcard, we checked in one of the suitcases.

Last goodbye (for this year) was done at the security checkpoint. Wishing a safe trip home, and that we all will see eachother again soon.

Malmöhus Castle visit

This day was a day filled with history of Malmoe (Malmö). We spend the whole day at Malmoehouse Castle (Malmöhus), and we even went to the Technical museum and the Maritime museum.

We got to learn about the history of Scania (Skåne) from 8000 BC until today.

Afterwards we were exhausted!

Mixed day in Sweden

We started this day by going shopping. Souvenirs and gifts was the goal.

Coming home from the shopping tour, the kids had gone to the beach ”Sibbarp”, so we joined them there.

In the evening we visited Emelie, David and Johanna in their apartement. We had a nice dinner.

Later this night, Heather, Tina & I played some Yatzy and had some drinks. Mentally we were all preparing for friday!

Making plans for next year……….

Foteviken Viking village

This beautiful day was perfect for a visit at the Foteviken viking village in Höllviken. Tina, Ellie, Elvira, Heather and I walked around in the viking village and looked at the vikings that actually live there during the summer. We saw the bakery, the black smiths house and a whole lot of other houses. At the market there were tents with vikings selling their homecraft, like reindeerskin, clothes and tools.

After the viking village visit, we went for a quick stop at the beach, then we visited Tina’s sister Nina & Per. First we had som good lunch and after a game of ”kubb” (and some beer) we had a  nice dinner. We stayed there the whole night.

Denmark visit

Early morning and the sun was already shining. After a nice breakfast we walked over to the train that would take us to Denmark across the Oeresunds bridge (Öresundsbron).  We got of the train in the middle of Copenhagen and walked all the way to the queens castle (Amalienborg) to see the changing of the guards. Sadly the queen was at her summerplace in Jylland, but the crownprins Fredrik drove by while waiting for the changing of the guards.

Now time for lunch and we had the traditional danish red sausages (Røde pølser) at the ”LARSEN’S PøLSER”

After watching the guards, we walked along the harbour (Langelinien) too se the little mermaid.

The sun was shining and it was pretty hot. We now went to see the church right next to the castle of Amalienborg.

Ice-cream is very good in Denmark, so we had to get the ”Big Viking”. Heather almost ate the whole thing.

The train back to Sweden was nice, but the walk from the station to the Larsen residens was a PAIN!

Resting in the garden having some spaghetti complaining about our legs beeing sore, we alla agreed of beeing satisfied with the day.

Tour of Malmö (Malmörundan)

Today we walked in the old city of Malmö. First we saw the ”Stortorget” (Big square), with the city hall, the residens (the former governors building), the statue of the king Gustav X. We also walked along the Malmoe walking street and saw ”Lilla Torg” (The little square), where we will be going to have a drink one night, and we saw the church of St: Peter (Petrikyrkan). Sadly it was closed for renovations.

After that, we took the ”Rundan” (Canalboat) around the canal in Malmoe which was a guided tour on the boat ”Paddan” (The Toad).

Then we went to see the ”Turning Torso” building.

At the Carnival

Saturday after midsommers night is the day for the carnival down by the beach.

Nina & Per, and their youngest daughter Elin came from Höllviken. We had dinner, and then we went to the carnival.

The kids went on the rides and we tried the lotteries without success.
