Tour of Malmö (Malmörundan)

Today we walked in the old city of Malmö. First we saw the ”Stortorget” (Big square), with the city hall, the residens (the former governors building), the statue of the king Gustav X. We also walked along the Malmoe walking street and saw ”Lilla Torg” (The little square), where we will be going to have a drink one night, and we saw the church of St: Peter (Petrikyrkan). Sadly it was closed for renovations.

After that, we took the ”Rundan” (Canalboat) around the canal in Malmoe which was a guided tour on the boat ”Paddan” (The Toad).

Then we went to see the ”Turning Torso” building.

At the Carnival

Saturday after midsommers night is the day for the carnival down by the beach.

Nina & Per, and their youngest daughter Elin came from Höllviken. We had dinner, and then we went to the carnival.

The kids went on the rides and we tried the lotteries without success.

Midsommarafton (Midsommer feast)

Tonight we were invited to Robert & Carina’s place (My brother) for celebrating the midsommer. We had some good traditional Swedish food and played some games composed by Tina. Needless to say, Team JUSA (Jörgen USA) won!

Limhamnsrunda (Around Limhamn)

Today we started off with newbaked buns for breakfast. Then we drove to the Öresundsbron (Bridge from Sweden to Denmark). The wind was on the windsurfers side today, but we didn’t see any of them.

After the bridge we went to the fishermen to get some newsmoked eel.

Preparing for the midsommer feast….

Skånerunda (Around Skåne)

Today some of us got up early in the morning and made coffee. (Thanks!)

After breakfast we left for Kåseberga and Ale Stenar (Ale Stones). The wind was blowing hard, but the weather was nice.

After looking at the rocks we visited the local fishermen and their shop to get something to eat. Some of us ate salmon-rolls, shrimp-baguette and some of us bought mackerel.

Then we were of to the castle Glimminge hus (The Glowing House). It was built from 1499. We started out with a coffee and cake. We did say ”Hi” and ”Goodbye” to the giant watching the castle.

Now we drove to the next castle Svaneholms slott. No pictures was allowed inside, so we took some outside instead.

Now we were hungry (yes we were), so we went back home to make some swedish meatballs.

Heather was put to roll my balls (!!!) after being tudored what the ingredients was. (She alreday knew though).

They tasted good even though she didn’ roll them hard enough 😉 Just kidding! They were perfect!

Arrival

Heather arrived today at Copenhagen airport in Denmark. Tina, Ellie and I picked her up, and drove of for Sweden and our place.

After having som quick food, we just sat down talking, until bedtime.
