Efter m\u00e5nga om och men, blev det till slut dags f\u00f6r Ellie och mig, att bege oss ut p\u00e5 v\u00e5r promenad i v\u00e5r The Conqueror Challenge ”Harry Potter & The Sorcerer’s Stone”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Det blev en runda motsols idag, d\u00e4r vi b\u00f6rjade med att g\u00e5 f\u00f6rbi garaget mot Konsum och sedan in mellan husen och f\u00f6rbi Djupadalsskolan, f\u00f6r att sedan ta oss ut mot Annetorpsv\u00e4gen, d\u00e4r vi sedan vek av mot Elinelund och gick runt Hyllie IK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Det blev ganska exakt 5km n\u00e4r vi v\u00e4l kom tillbaka hem, f\u00f6rutom f\u00f6r Ellie, som fick g\u00e5 lite fram och tillbaka, f\u00f6r att komma upp i sina 5km! \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I och med denna promenad, s\u00e5 registrerades min 100:e promenad i min Garmin-app, och jag fick 4-po\u00e4ng och utm\u00e4rkelsen ”Walk the walk 4”. N\u00e4sta anhalt blir den 200:e g\u00e5ngen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dessutom kom det 8:e vykortet fr\u00e5n Camino de Santiago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Known as Santa Maria in the 11th century, it has an even earlier history as a Roman city called Lac\u00f3briga and has been involved in the Praetorian Wars of the 1st century BC. Remains from the 3rd and 4th centuries, such as Roman mansions and villas, have been found in Carri\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Churches and monasteries are aplenty, but the highlights are the Church of Santiago and Monasterio de San Zoilo. The Church of Santiago has seen many alterations and fires over the centuries, and today is an eclectic mix of architecture beginning with the 12th century. What makes this church a worthy visit is the sculpted frieze above the doorway showing Christ Pantocrator sitting within a mandorla, typical of Romanesque sculpture and considered a masterpiece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just outside of town is the Monasterio de San Zoilo. Originally built in the 11th century, it went under significant renovations in the 16th century, where the Plateresque cloister, Romanesque capitals (columns) and archeological vestiges sit amongst the monastery’s preserved and restored buildings. Within the church, you will find Romanesque tombstones of the Counts of Carrion. The monastery has been converted into a luxury hotel.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
